How to Unlock, Build, and Complete Your Stellar Lines

By The RedLens Project ·

CABAL Online’s Stellar Link is a character-growth system introduced with Episode 31. It lets eligible characters imprint bonuses into slots across five lines and activate an additional Link Effect when every slot in one line shares the same Link type. The system and its Episode 31 origin are documented in the updated Mr. Wormy Stellar Link guide.

The central planning rule is to evaluate every slot as three separate results:

  • Its Stellar option or stat
  • Its Stellar Force value
  • Its Link type or color

Use Luminous: Selena when the option or value needs to be replaced. Consider Luminous: Sole when the option and value are worth preserving but the color prevents line completion.

This is a version-aware guide, not a promise that legacy tables remain current everywhere. Official regions and private servers may use different costs, probabilities, binding rules, material sources, terminology, and progression systems.

Stellar Link resources and version warning

The available CABAL Online Stellar Link links do not all document the same implementation. Use the following version map before relying on a farming route, cost table, or optimization recommendation.

Resource list by version

  • PlayThisGame regional update review: The December 2022 Stellar Link update review documents the original line structure, materials, unlock process, and completed-line bonus categories for that rollout. Its numerical tables should be treated as historical unless your current client confirms them.
  • Mr. Wormy system guide: The Stellar Link system guide covers activation, imprinting, Link types, conversion, and the later Stellar Force connection. Its revision history records corrections through March 23, 2025.
  • Mr. Wormy Episode 31 notes: The expanded Episode 31 patch notes focus on the EU, NA, and BR rollout and help explain its original materials and progression sequence.
  • Forsaken Cabal wiki: The Forsaken Stellar Link guide documents a private-server implementation. Its Low Roll and High Roll model, material sources, recommended options, and automation policy must not be generalized to other services.
  • PlayCabal wiki: PlayCabal provides a direct Stellar Link Markdown page and a documentation index. Both should be treated as potentially server-specific resources.

Editorial version note

  • Article reviewed: July 30, 2026
  • Primary regional mechanics documented: December 2022, Episode 31
  • Latest cited community-guide correction: March 23, 2025
  • Current-client verification: No current official-region client was directly tested for this article

Current game tooltips and service-specific patch notes therefore take priority over the legacy figures below.

Several sources agree on the core model: Selena imprints or rerolls slots, every slot receives separate roll components, Sole changes the Link type without replacing the retained option and value, and a completed line requires matching Link types. The implementation details can still differ substantially.

Before following any guide, identify your environment:

  1. An official regional CABAL service, such as NA, EU, BR, or another official region
  2. Forsaken Cabal
  3. PlayCabal
  4. Another private or customized server

This distinction is particularly important when deciding where to obtain Sole, how much Selena to spend, which values can roll, whether materials are bound, and whether an automation method is permitted.

How to unlock Stellar Link and open the interface

The documented Episode 31 unlock requires a character at level 50 or higher and Battle Style Level 6 or Character Class 6, depending on the terminology used by the client. The same legacy process requires a Grinding Drill costing 1,000,000 Alz and provides access through Shift+O or the CABAL menu, as described in the Episode 31 rollout notes.

The reported quest path is:

  1. Visit Chloe in Port Lux.
  2. Accept “The Force that Meteor Brings.”
  3. Visit Hampric in Port Lux.
  4. Buy a Grinding Drill for 1,000,000 Alz.
  5. Return to Chloe and complete the quest.
  6. Open the interface through Cabal Menu > Stellar Link or press the default shortcut Shift+O.

These are legacy, cited-version requirements—not a guarantee that every current official region or private server still uses the same eligibility rules, NPC sequence, price, or shortcut.

In-game unlock checklist

  • [ ] Meet the displayed character-level requirement.
  • [ ] Meet the required Battle Style Level or Character Class.
  • [ ] Find Chloe in Port Lux.
  • [ ] Accept “The Force that Meteor Brings.”
  • [ ] Buy the Grinding Drill from Hampric.
  • [ ] Verify the price shown by your own client before purchasing.
  • [ ] Return to Chloe and turn in the quest.
  • [ ] Try Shift+O after completing the quest.
  • [ ] If necessary, use Cabal Menu > Stellar Link.

If Chloe does not offer the quest, first verify the character requirements, quest log, and exact server documentation. Do not assume that requirements from a December 2022 rollout necessarily remain unchanged.

Accessories and collections released or revised in the same episode are separate systems. Their appearance in the same update does not make them Stellar Link prerequisites or subcomponents.

The five lines, their slots, and the three parts of an imprint

The December 2022 regional documentation reports five named lines containing 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 slots, respectively, as shown in the PlayThisGame update review.

Line Number of slots Broad completed-line focus
Daedalus 4 Normal Attack Damage and Defense
Icarus 6 PvP Skill Amp and Resist Skill Amp
Vulcanos 8 All Attack and Damage Reduction
Minerva 10 PvP Critical Damage and Resist Critical Damage
Pluto 12 Critical Damage and Ignore Penetration

The cited Episode 31 implementation progresses through slots sequentially from a line’s root. It may not allow arbitrary selection of any unopened slot. If a slot is unavailable, inspect the line to see whether the preceding slot must be imprinted first.

Every slot has three relevant results

Evaluate an imprint in three parts:

  1. Stellar option or stat The kind of bonus assigned to the slot.

  2. Stellar Force value The strength or level of the assigned result.

  3. Link type or color One of five Link types used to determine whether the whole line qualifies for a Link Effect.

These properties are separate. A particular color does not prove that the slot received a particular option or value. Likewise, receiving a desirable stat does not guarantee the color required for line completion.

Suppose a Daedalus slot receives an offensive option you want at an acceptable value, but its color differs from the other Daedalus slots. That is primarily a color-completion problem. A color-only operation may be preferable to exposing the good option and value to another complete reroll.

The reverse can also happen: a slot may have the target color but an unwanted option. Preserving it solely because the color matches can produce a completed line made from individually weak rolls.

Longer lines require more matching slots. Daedalus needs all four of its slots to match, while Pluto needs all twelve. That does not establish how many attempts or materials completion will require; those estimates depend on current probabilities, selected Steps, conversion costs, and server-specific mechanics.

Luminous Fragment, Selena, and Sole explained

Three materials drive the documented Stellar Link workflow. Their general functions are consistent across several sources, but their acquisition and binding rules are not universal.

Item Purpose Reported source Reported binding information Applicable version or server
Luminous Fragment Exchange material used to obtain Selena Extract equipment carrying Epic options; yield varies by equipment and Epic properties One Episode 31 guide describes fragments as character-bound Legacy regional implementation
Luminous: Selena Consumed to imprint or reroll a slot Exchange fragments through Chloe; one regional source also reports selected dungeon containers A December 2022 regional source describes Selena as character-bound Legacy regional implementation
Luminous: Sole Consumed by Link Conversion or Link Transformation Field, World, or World Ruler boss content A December 2022 regional source describes Sole as tradable Official-oriented legacy implementations
Luminous: Sole Changes a slot’s color while retaining its option and value DP Shop or Premium DX Dungeons Check the local item tooltip Forsaken Cabal

Luminous Fragment

Luminous Fragments are reported to come from extracting equipment with Epic options. The yield can vary with equipment grade, Epic type, and Epic grade, so two extractable items should not be expected to return identical quantities.

Fragments are a precursor material rather than the standard imprinting item. In the legacy resource loop, players extract eligible equipment, collect fragments, and exchange those fragments for Luminous: Selena.

Luminous: Selena

Selena is consumed by Stellar Imprint, whether the operation fills an eligible slot for the first time or rerolls an existing slot.

The documented December 2022 exchange rate is 1,000 Luminous Fragments for one Luminous: Selena through Chloe or the corresponding shop interface. Treat that as a legacy figure and verify the exchange shown by your current client before committing materials.

Luminous: Sole

Sole is consumed by the color-only operation called Link Conversion in some guides and Link Transformation in another. Its defining function differs from Selena: it changes the selected slot’s Link type while retaining the existing Stellar option and Stellar Force value.

Its reported source varies by implementation:

  • Official-oriented legacy material describes Sole as coming from Field, World, or World Ruler boss content.
  • The Forsaken Cabal implementation lists that server’s DP Shop and Premium DX Dungeons instead.

Neither route is universal. An official-region player should not assume that a private-server shop exists in the regional client, while a Forsaken player should not automatically follow an old official-region boss table.

Binding rules require the same caution. One December 2022 regional source describes Selena as character-bound and Sole as tradable. Those labels may have changed and need not apply to another server. Check the current item tooltip before planning transfers, purchases, or extractions.

The available evidence does not establish universal drop rates, expected farming times, or a single best route. Current server-specific drop tables and shop prices must come first.

Stellar Imprint: rolling a slot with Selena

Stellar Imprint consumes Luminous: Selena and randomly assigns the selected slot’s relevant results in the cited system:

  • Stellar option
  • Stellar Force value
  • Link type or color

Imprinting is the appropriate operation when the option or value is unacceptable. It is not automatically the best response when both are useful and only the color is wrong.

What the imprinting Step changes

The interface allows the player to select an imprinting Step. The chosen Step changes the Selena cost and the probability distribution for colors and Stellar Force values.

A higher Step may shift the distribution toward higher colors or stronger values, but it does not remove randomness or guarantee a specific outcome. Exact Step costs and probability tables are not reproduced here because important source tables are image-based, some entries received later corrections, and their current applicability across regions has not been established.

The correct source for an immediate decision is the cost and probability information displayed by the client in which the materials will actually be spent.

Safe first-imprint workflow

  1. Confirm the active line. Make sure you selected Daedalus, Icarus, Vulcanos, Minerva, or Pluto as intended.

  2. Confirm the active slot. Check the highlighted slot, particularly when progressing outward from a line’s root.

  3. Select the Step deliberately. Read the displayed Selena cost and any probability preview available in your client.

  4. Verify the cost. Do not rely solely on a screenshot or table from another region or server.

  5. Imprint the slot.

  6. Inspect the option. Decide whether the stat supports your build or immediate objective.

  7. Inspect the Stellar Force value. Judge the value independently of the option name.

  8. Inspect the Link type. Compare the color with the target for that individual line.

  9. Choose the next operation. Reroll with Selena if the option or value is unacceptable. Consider Sole if only the color needs correction.

This inspection prevents two expensive mistakes: rerolling a useful stat merely because its color is wrong, and retaining a poor stat merely because its color matches.

Forsaken Cabal’s Low Roll and High Roll system is explicitly described as a private-server modification. Its two-tier values and preferred options should not be imported into an official region or another private server without matching local documentation.

Link colors and completed-line Link Effects

The five reported Link types are:

  • Desire
  • Grief
  • Fury
  • Oblivion
  • Emptiness

A Link Effect activates only when every slot within one individual line shares the same Link type. Matching most of the slots is insufficient, and matching colors in different lines does not combine them into one completed effect.

For example, Daedalus contains four slots. Four Fury slots activate the Daedalus Fury effect. Three Fury slots and one Desire slot do not satisfy the all-slots-match condition.

Five lines paired with five Link types produce 25 possible completed-line combinations in the documented Episode 31 structure.

Line Legacy Link Effect categories
Daedalus Normal Attack Damage and Defense
Icarus PvP Skill Amp and Resist Skill Amp
Vulcanos All Attack and Damage Reduction
Minerva PvP Critical Damage and Resist Critical Damage
Pluto Critical Damage and Ignore Penetration

These are category summaries rather than current numerical tables. Effect values may differ after balancing changes or under private-server rules.

Why changing one slot matters

Because activation requires every slot in a line to match, changing one completed slot to another color breaks that condition. Rerolling an existing slot with Selena is especially consequential because the operation can replace its color along with its option and value.

Before altering a completed line:

  1. Record the slot’s current option and value.
  2. Confirm the shared Link type.
  3. Review the operation shown in the interface.
  4. Determine whether it changes only the color or all three results.
  5. Decide whether the possible improvement justifies losing the completed-line effect, at least temporarily.

No Link type is universally best. A color’s practical value depends on the line, character build, PvE or PvP objective, regional balance, and current effect table. An old progression table or private-server recommendation cannot settle that choice for every implementation.

Selena or Sole? A reroll-versus-conversion decision guide

The sources use two terms for the color-only operation:

  • Link Conversion
  • Link Transformation

In the cited implementations, both refer to an operation that changes the selected slot’s Link type while retaining its Stellar option and Stellar Force value.

Decision tree

1. Is the Stellar option acceptable?

  • No: Reroll the slot with Selena.
  • Yes: Continue.

2. Is the Stellar Force value acceptable?

  • No: Reroll the slot with Selena.
  • Yes: Continue.

3. Does the Link type match the target for that line?

  • Yes: Preserve the slot unless your priorities change.
  • No: Consider using Sole to change only the Link type.

A full imprint exposes the option, value, and color to randomness again. Conversion protects an acceptable option and value while addressing the isolated color problem.

Common slot scenarios

Slot result Recommended response Reason
Unacceptable option or value, regardless of color Reroll with Selena The core roll is not worth protecting
Good option and acceptable value, but wrong color Consider conversion with Sole Conversion can preserve the useful roll
Good option, acceptable value, and matching color Preserve the slot It serves both slot quality and line completion

An excellent option with a matching color but a disappointing value requires a more difficult judgment. The answer depends on how important that value is, the risk of losing the option and color, and the current costs and probabilities on the server.

Conversion does not connect color to stat quality

The ability to alter only the Link type shows that color is managed separately from the retained option and value. It does not mean that certain colors cause certain stats, or that a desirable color indicates a high-quality option.

Before using either material, compare the actual Selena and Sole costs shown by your server. A customized implementation may make Sole unusually scarce, place it in a shop, alter imprinting rates, or use different boss drops.

Without current region-specific probability data, there is no responsible way to calculate a universal average number of rolls, expected material total, or cheapest path to a completed line.

Progression strategy, troubleshooting, and later Stellar Force content

A conservative strategy preserves useful information and good rolls instead of pursuing a color without considering what may be lost.

Safe progression checklist

  1. Confirm your server, region, and patch.
  2. Complete the locally applicable Stellar Link unlock.
  3. Choose a line that supports your current objective.
  4. Open slots in the order permitted by the interface.
  5. Evaluate every imprint as an option, value, and color.
  6. Preserve rolls that meet your own quality threshold.
  7. Use Selena when the option or value needs replacement.
  8. Consider Sole when only the color blocks completion.
  9. Pursue a shared color only after reviewing current costs and effects.
  10. Recheck every slot in the line if its Link Effect remains inactive.

If the quest is missing

Verify the documented legacy conditions first:

  • The character meets the required level and class progression.
  • You are speaking with Chloe in Port Lux.
  • “The Force that Meteor Brings” is not already active or completed.
  • Your server still uses the Episode 31 activation path.

If those checks do not resolve the issue, consult documentation for your exact service rather than assuming that another region’s quest path applies.

If the interface appears locked

Confirm that the activation quest was completed, not merely accepted. Then try both documented access methods:

  • Shift+O
  • Cabal Menu > Stellar Link

If neither works, check the current control and menu documentation for your server.

If a slot is unavailable

The documented Episode 31 implementation opens slots sequentially from a line’s root. Inspect the preceding slot before assuming that material ownership should allow arbitrary selection.

Having enough Selena and being eligible to imprint a particular slot are separate conditions.

If the Link Effect is inactive

Inspect one line at a time:

  1. Confirm that every slot in that line has been imprinted.
  2. Read the Link type on every slot.
  3. Verify that all slots share exactly one type.
  4. Do not stop after checking only most of the slots.
  5. Do not count matching slots from another line.

The match condition is evaluated within each individual line, not across the board as a whole.

If material guides conflict

Check three details before farming:

  • Region or server: official regional service, Forsaken, PlayCabal, or another implementation
  • Publication date: particularly whether the guide describes the December 2022 rollout
  • Patch or episode: whether its tables match the version currently running

Conflicting Sole advice illustrates the problem. Boss-oriented acquisition information can accurately describe a legacy regional version while shop or Premium DX sources accurately describe a customized private server.

Later Stellar Force content

A community guide reports that the later Stellar Force content unlocks after every Stellar Link slot has been imprinted and associates that expansion with Episode 40. The available evidence supports that reported unlock condition but does not establish the later system’s detailed mechanics well enough to reproduce them here.

Frequently asked questions

Do all slots in a Stellar Link line need the same color?

Yes. In the cited implementations, every slot within one individual line must share the same Link type for that line’s Link Effect to activate.

For example, all Daedalus slots must be Desire, Grief, Fury, Oblivion, or Emptiness together. One different slot prevents activation, and matching slots in another line cannot fill the gap.

Does Link Conversion reroll my Stellar stat or Stellar Force value?

No, not in the cited implementations. Link Conversion—called Link Transformation in one source—changes the selected slot’s Link type while preserving its existing Stellar option and Stellar Force value.

That is why conversion is worth considering when the roll is acceptable but the color is wrong. Always read the confirmation window in case your server has customized the operation.

Where can I get Luminous: Sole in CABAL Online?

It depends on the implementation. Official-oriented legacy guides associate Sole with Field, World, or World Ruler boss content. Forsaken Cabal lists its own DP Shop and Premium DX Dungeon sources.

Consult the current drop information, shop interface, and documentation for your exact region or server before farming.

What unlocks after every Stellar Link slot is imprinted?

The cited community guide reports that imprinting every Stellar Link slot unlocks access to later Stellar Force content associated with Episode 40.

That establishes only the reported unlock condition. It does not show that every server implements the later system identically.

Are Stellar Link macros allowed?

There is no universal permission. Forsaken Cabal’s wiki discusses a third-party macro under that server’s policy, but permission on one private server does not establish permission on official CABAL services or any other server.

Read the current rules for your exact service and obtain clarification from its operators if the policy is unclear.

Final action plan

Confirm your server and patch before spending materials. Complete Chloe’s legacy unlock path if it still applies, then inspect every imprint as three independent results.

Use Selena when the option or Stellar Force value is unacceptable. Consider Sole when a useful roll deserves protection but its color prevents completion. To activate a Link Effect, make every slot within the chosen line share one Link type.

Current in-game tooltips, displayed costs, and regional patch notes should always take priority over legacy tables and private-server guides.
